Steve Coleman, an Independent Licensed Agent with the David M. Gilston Insurance Agency, graduated from Kean University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Science, at which time he started working in the health insurance industry.  In 2003, he became in Independent Licensed Agent with the David M. Gilston Insurance Agency, focusing his efforts in the Group Health Insurance markets.

Currently, Steve works with approximately 75 small and large group employers in the State, educating them on the differences between level, self, and fully-insured group medical plans.  Additionally, he brings a “real-world, common-sense” approach to his groups with the goal of ensuring that his clients know how each plan works as well as the tax implications associated with such plans.  

Steve is an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), the South Carolina Association of Health Underwriters (SCAHU), and the Health Underwriters Political Action Committee (HUPAC).  He has been recognized by NAHU as a member of the Leading Producers Roundtable – Soaring Eagle.

On a personal level, Steve and his wife, Renee’, live in Chapin and are active members of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.
